Although it is durable and had the potential of being a lot of fun for my 21 month old son, it was too small for him. The toy is recommended for kids between the ages of 1 1/2 -5, and there is no way this can be true. He is about 33 inches tall, and weighs 28 pounds. Even with the floor board removed, his head almost touches the top of the car. It is also very narrow, leaving him little room to move or turn the steering wheel. I figure, if my son really wanted to, he could play with this for a couple of months, but then it's off to storage for our next child. I would like to return this item, but it would be a pain to take apart. He has played with it everyday since he got it. It is pretty small, seems smaller than the original cozy coupe, although I haven't actually compared them. My 5 year old is very cramped in it and it is supposed to be for up to age 5. In the description it said, includes, "An electronic microphone with flashing lights and 7 siren sound patterns" which it does not. There are no lights or siren noises (not sure if that is a bad thing or not though). As for durability, one of the red covers on the wheels fell off on the 2nd day. We had used an old one at a neighbor's house and loved it. The new one is much smaller overall. My 2 1/2 year old is too big for it, he can't move his legs to drive it and when we push him his feet get caught. He's just average in size. My husband has put tons of toys and furniture pieces together and he said this is the worst thing he's ever put together. And the materials are cheap, it scuffs easily and will dent easily. So I wish we could've found an old one in good condition and just bought that instead of putting $45 into this new one. Luckily I have a second child who will get some use out of it but I wouldn't have bought it had I seen it put together in the store. |
