She is in the 90th percentile for height and she can't reach the pedals and has to stretch for the handlebars. She tries to use it as a scoot toy, but the rear wheels are in the way so she just runs over her heels. The advertised age ranges say 2-5 years, but based on my experience it is going to be more like 2.5-3.5 years old. 2 is too small, and a 4-5 year old would be way to big.The trike is actually pretty decent, It seems pretty tough and well built, although the rear wheels have a little more side-to-side play than I would like. My daughter loves the look of the thing even though she can't really ride it yet. The assembly was not a challenge, but more involved than I thought it would be (plan on 20-30 minutes) and required a philips screwdriver and a hammer. The stickers did not go on well but that is probably my fault. So I would have given this 4-4.5 stars if it was about 25% smaller or my kid... It's a great bike for a little one. She can't pedal yet but I knew she wouldn't be able to. So it's nice that she can put her little feet on the floor and just push and still feel like she's riding a bike. She LOVES that the set has storage in it and is constantly getting off to put stuff in it. It's a good little bike for a little one. I had one just like this when I was a kid and I loved it! I had it til I was about 5 and it was still in good shape. My four year old even took off riding the thing. So for what you pay for it, it's worth it. It's also really easy to put together I did it myself and I'm in no way a handy woman. |
