We have multiple ride-on toys in the house but they both go straight to this one every time.It is durable. It still is in one piece after 3+ years of HEAVY use. He got this as a gift for his first birthday. The bar on the back is good for early walkers, but it does tend to get away from them every once in a while. We have had a few spills and scrapes here or there, but nothing major. If they sit too far back on the seat and throw their weight back, it has slipped out from under him before and he hit his head. I would recommend it for a little bit older kids (18M+). This toy rolls better than any of the other ride-ons. He is able to steer as well. My son starts from one end of the house, gets up to speed, and loves to fishtail around corners on top of this thing. He flies on it and laughs like a maniac every time he rides it. At the time we purchased it so he could have help walking but knowing it would also be a fun toy down the road for him. At first it was very enjoyable for him as he mostly pushed the buttons and sat on it since he couldn't do much else. However not that he is 19 months old, we can no longer keep this in our house. My neice used it a a week ago ago and was using it as she was supposed to. When she would push her feet so the toy would go in a backward direction, it tipped and caused her to hit her head. This actually happened to her twice in one day. I took it away at that point. She is a little older than my son so I really thought it was because she was too heavy (the bottom says not for children over 3 and she is almost there). However today my son was on it sitting backwards. He went forward and it then tipped forward and hit his face. This caused he nose to bleed and gave him a cut lip.
